Look you guys, I found the most colourful house that has ever existed:

(Yes, this is a REAL house)

So, I’ve been fantasy house-hunting recently — checking out houses in Sydney’s inner-west that we could afford if we had a decent deposit. But, we don’t have the aforementioned deposit, hence the “fantasy” aspect of the house-hunting.

Suddenly, a listing caught my eye, described as a “spunky semi”. Worth a look, yeah?

OH MY GOD IT TOTALLY WAS!

Check out those insane colours — and the curtains! This house is amazing and I. WANT. IT.

It really looks like something from Willy Wonka or one of those retro homewares shops. Like I said on Twitter: “ imagine being high in that house…oh wait, I wouldn’t have to.”

And every time I look at these photos, I see something new. A cat tree! Duck-shaped cupboard-handles! Lounge chairs shaped like hands! A matching scooter in the backyard!

No really, there IS a matching scooter in the backyard:

I was once described in a magazine as “bright and colourful and loves all things fun” and I have a rainbow tattooed on my tailbone. I also discovered that this house is a mere 2 blocks from where we lived for the first seven years that we lived in Sydney. I think it’s fate that this house and I are meant to be together.

I’m seriously considering going along to the auction (Saturday March 28th at 1.30pm!) to see how much the house sells for AND WHO DARE TAKETH MY DREAM HOUSE AWAY FROM ME.

Who wants to come with me? x

  2. How cool is that house! Unfortunately, I think the owners are going to take all the cool furniture and decor. Still the colors of the walls are fantastic. Maybe I should think about repainting my house as all the walls are a boring white colour.

  3. I agree with Riayn, it is the furnishings that make the house into such a magical looking place and the owners will no doubt be taking those with them. Maybe you just need to collect funky furnishings and turn where ever you are living into a funky haven.
