When rah went to problogger #pbevent

Last year I decided I couldn’t afford to go to Problogger because we’d just taken out a mortgage (and I’d already been to not one, but two blogging conferences in 2011 – TWO!). But the insane jealousy of watching everyone else go was too much, so I vowed to go this year.

And go I did :)

Becoming a borderline seasoned traveller, I took my second return flight within a month – and Virgin is way better than Jetstar. Suffice to say that I’ll never travel Jetstar again.

I really do love Melbourne. It’s just… different to Sydney. The vibe, the doughnuts, the laneways. I had my first Degreaves Street and Walker’s Doughnuts experiences. HELLO! A++ will visit again

Even though the weather was… typically ordinary. But I only needed a light jacket and avoided using my umbrella altogether.

I went to the conference with my Smarter Admins hat on. I wore jeans and jacket by City Chic (new favourites, zomg), top by Mix, jewellery courtesy of my tasteful husband, nailpolish by Revlon, glasses by Specsavers, phone by Galaxy Note. All awesome by RAH!

The conference itself was great; I learned heaps, have a new-found confidence in my blog and written a to-do list as long as my arm. I wasn’t really feeling the go-and-talk-to-strangers vibe, so didn’t NETWORK as much as I could have. But I filled up my Evernote with notes and ideas and lists… hurrah for my iPad being my workhorse.

But the best part was catching up with other bloggers. My roomie, Melissa is a beautiful soul who is friendly and chatty with everyone she meets. We stayed up til all hours talking about everything and nothing.

Lori, the woman who I keep using as an example of blogging for GOOD. She pushes boundaries, breaks through them by writing about suicide and has saved lives as a result. You know the people who go forth and break the rules, challenge the rest of us and make a difference? That’s Lori.

Mrs Woog (yes, I’m brushing her hair and she’s purring like a sexy kitten). Mrs Woog once described me as “funny” and I’m considering getting that on a business card; “MRS WOOG SAID I’M FUNNY”.

Smaggle, EdenLiz and Rhi (on the floor of a trendy bar, no less). Just after this was taken we were talking about the love/hate status of coriander and Smaggle’s theory that nothing should be consumed luke warm.

Hands-down, the best part was being reunited with Liz. Have I mentioned I miss Liz? I do. Crazy amounts. I miss Jarod too. Even writing these sentences is making me teary. I AM SO EMO.

What do you call a room full of bloggers?

Yup, insanely jealous, me. Ho hum…
And coriander is an acquired taste. I remember once thinking it tasted like soap, but now I don’t and I am happy because I can eat Mexican, Indian, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese and whatever else with gay abandon x
