I’ve spent the last month or so reading through every post ever published on my blog. I finally finished earlier this week.

So after a painless domain transition of moving a full WP install from one domain to another, the rainbowtatt is now rahest.com.au. I’ve outgrown rainbowtatt.com in as much as it’s possible for a human to outgrow a domain name. So here we are. If you over-think it, it’s symbolic of how drastically different I am since starting Mindfulness this year. SO DIFFERENT.

I’ve blogged at a few domains over the years:

and now

April 07, 2013 at 1209PM-When I started going through the archives last month, reading every word ever published, unpublished, redacted and drafted I was SO tempted to just delete the whole lot. A lot of what I wrote back then was gibberish and it was embarrassing to read back. But (foolishly?) I persevered and as I made my way through all 718 posts I saw so much change. How I changed and how my life changed around me. Big Things I had completely forgotten and smaller details that I never would have remembered otherwise. I culled a lot of posts; edited even more. I re-discovered unfinished drafts that I’ve started working on again. So much of what I have published over the last six years was pointless, but it’s reminded me of where I was compared to where I am now. Sofa king glad I didn’t go with my initial reaction and delete the whole lot.

My biggest realisation has been that this blog doesn’t exist for the fame, glory or monetisation; not to improve anyone else’s life (not intentionally, anyway) but my own. There are so many Big Things that I haven’t recorded over the last year or so and I have to make up for lost time.

Have you ever re-read your blog archives? I highly recommend it :)

  1. I do enjoy re reading my old stuff. And wished I could write more, just for me.

Wished I had kept more of my stuff before I moved to an actual blogging platform.

Yay, your all growed up now.

I want a new domain name now dammit :P

  3. I occasionally re-read old posts and surprise myself at where I’ve been. It also helps me to see the cycles in my life, how some things tend to resurface again and again. Welcome to your new domain!
