Earlier this week, I got my first “real” photography gig – chasing the World Youth Day Cross, Icon and Message Stick across eastern Sydney.
While it was a long day (12 hours), I learned heaps about my little camera and what (doesn’t) work when trying to take photos.
I took well over 700 pics on the day (thankfully, in JPG only) and have been getting embarrassing amounts of positive feedback, especially from a presentation of photos that I put together to showcase my work from the day.
Sydney really isn’t looking forward to World Youth Day, and I don’t think Sydneysiders really understand just how big the whole event is. It’s going to be interesting to see how things pan out in the months leading up to His Popiness arriving in July.
