This is a meme that appeals – stolen from Still Love With Cat

  1. I grew up at a drive-in theatre
My parents managed the local drive-in in my hometown of Grafton. I watched my mum and sister make donuts and choc tops and I watched my dad change the spools on the projector
  2. I was a backup singer in a pop/rock band
Except I can’t remember the name of the band. I was 22. We rehearsed lots, but I didn’t hang around enough to get to do a gig
  3. I had lunch with Human Nature
My mum won a competition to meet Human Nature but she couldn’t go. I sat next to Phil and all of the boys were very nice and accommodating of a fangirl such as myself :)
  4. I almost became a member of Landmark Education
You might’ve heard about these nutjobs in the news in the last couple of years. I went to a few meetings and almost got conned into joining. Thankfully, I saw the light.
  5. I dated a gay man
Let’s just say that I was very innocent when I was 19 and leave it at that ;)
  6. I worked for Don Burke for 2 weeks
I had a temping job working for his production company when Burke’s Backyard was still a hit on tele. His daughters all worked there. Once, he rang in and asked to “speak to the fruits of my loins” and I had NFI what he meant. He repeated it about 10 times until I just guessed he meant the only other person in the building at the time. Thankfully, I was right.
  7. I did work experience with John Laws
Sorta… it was at radio 2UE in Sydney and I stood around all day for 10 Tuesdays in year 11.
  8. I stood in a lift with James Packer
Back in the days when I worked at ACP’s Park Street building. James jumped in my lift and asked if the lift was going up… we were on the ground floor (with no basement levels). “Um, sure, it’s going up”, I said
  9. I saw Fame: The Musical 17 times in 1999/2000
In Sydney, Newcastle and Melbourne. I became that girl that was known by the cast because I was part of a group that were always seeing the show. We got invited to go drinking with the cast, to  barbecues  and I’ve got a drawing somewhere that was made for me by some of the cast members
  10. I got hideously drunk at Microsoft’s Christmas party
It was a cowboy party down in the Botanic Gardens back in 2000. I pinched a glass and I’ve still got it after all these years!

  2. This list was so interesting!
My 12 year old self would have killed (and I mean killed) to have had lunch with Human Nature.

What did you used to do at ACP?
Mr Packer just bought into my company but I don’t think I’ll be seeing him round the traps…

    1. I was in admin for the computer magazines, about as far from the Packers as I could manage ;) Best to keep away from him, his height makes him scary!

(When I had lunch with HN, I called Mike “Tiny Man Big Hair”, which didn’t go down to well AT ALL. lol)
