Fresh Horses Brigade is a BRAND NEW meme from Eden. Eden was convinced that no one would be interesting in participating in another meme (cause really, there are a LOT of memes to choose from out there) but, in true Eden style, it’s off to a cracking start.

24 joiner-inner-ers and counting! Eden, you had NOTHING to worry about. Can’t wait to see where the meme will take us. Eden always takes us on a journey in her blog posts, it’s bound to happen with the meme, too.

(Eden, every time I try to type Fresh Horses Brigade I end up typing Wild Horses Brigade. So appropriate on so many levels.)

Edenland's Fresh Horses Brigade
My handwriting is a bit like my personality and my moods – all over the place. My handwriting can be neat or a complete mess. It changes depending on what pen or pencil or texta I’m using.

My favourite writing pen is a classic Parker. My favourite letters to write are the lowercase e and uppercase F. My favourite letter combination to write is th. I’m preparing a post for Smarter Admins that’s based on ways to improve your handwriting for work. Because, like everyone, my handwriting has turned to shit because I’d much rather send a birthday message on Facebook than send a card.

I’m a bit iffy about sharing this snippet of my handwriting with you – but stuff it. These are some of the notes from my most recent therapy session. 2012 is MY year, and I’m accessing therapy to make it so. Take a step into my mind, don’t mind the mess!

  1. My handwriting? I am pretty sure that I am a doctor and I just forgot.

  2. My handwriting is messy and all over the place. It isn’t consistent either, I use caps and then lower case and then cursive turns into printing! I also find the more I write the messier it gets.

I love your words, I write my thoughts in a similar manner often when I am trying to dissect something that is going on with me. Words on paper can truly bring clarity. :)

    1. My handwriting can be neat as hell at the beginning, but hopeless after the 2nd line :)

My theory of what constitutes nice handwriting is consistency – even consistency with messiness can be nice handwriting!

  3. no shame in therapy – AT ALL – in fact, quite the opposite, such work, such hard work is worth a celebration.
ps im jealous you get to take notes.. sometimes my mind can’t keep up trying to remember all the great things said!

    1. Mine was quite good and told me to make sure I had pen and paper with me – then she emailed me her notes as well so I could compare – though hers were very brief compared to everything I scribbled down!

  4. If handwriting had an overarching personality trait, yours conveys boldness. And it looks so similar to my best friend’s!

Mine changes depending on the instrument, message and reader. But it always looks childlike. I often wonder when my handwriting will look grown up? I would’ve thought by now it would be. Clearly not…

    1. Oooh, I like boldness!
Maybe instead of “childlike” yours is “youthful” and you’re like me in that acting like a grown up is pretty boring! :))

  5. Thanks for letting us step in. Handwriting evokes much emotion – probably a good thing for sorting out our own ‘messes’. I like writing the uppercase F too.

    1. That’s probably why I don’t handwrite my thoughts too often – way too much emotion in it.
Thanks for commenting Deb. Can’t stop thinking of you and Luka x

  6. RAH.

I am slowly making my way across all of the amazing blogs that linked up and commenting on them … to find you have already been there. Because you are a SWEETHEART.

Thank you so much for taking part. What the hell will I do for this next week?

I like your handwriting, love what you wrote. And am ESPECIALLY impressed that you took notes in your therapy session. I am too busy keening and beating my chest wailing WHY? WHYYYYYYY.

    XX eden

PS Just kidding – I gave up therapy for lent. The moon is my therapist now. It’s going really well.
