It’s only once in a blue moon that we get a five-day Easter/ANZAC weekend. But it was just what I needed.

It’s been a weekend of catching up with friends, family, sleep, freelance work, baking…. and of course, I now have a head cold, just in time to go back to work tomorrow.

BUT! I got to eat and even make some nommy things this weekend…

Nutella pancakes, as made by my gorgeous husband:

I made my first ever batch of hot cross buns and my first ever dough that requires kneading:

The buns themselves were a bit over-cooked, so we didn’t eat them.

I also made Cinnamon Rolls for Jarod’s birthday (happy birthday, jarod!)

This was my most successful batch of cinnamon rolls to date!

I could take a photo of me this afternoon, curled up on my couch with my blankie, phone, laptop, iPad, remote control and kitteh cats… but the sea of used tissues is far from pretty, so I’ll save you the horror of seeing that.

You’re welcome.

  4. The cinnamon rolls were amazing. Jarod ate some for breakfast on his birthday morning. He assures me they were delicious cold as well as warm.
